Founded in 1888 by William Coulthard, the business has remained in partial ownership of the Coulthard family until this sale, earning a strong reputation for engineering excellence and quality of manufacture. The business is underpinned by an ethos of continual improvement and quality, ensuring that every product meets the highest standards and client requirements.
Wm Coulthard & Company Limited designs and produces bespoke packaged pump-to-point lubricator systems, supplying over 70 active clients across the UK and internationally. Its lubrication systems are universally heralded for their reliability, high quality and longevity, many having operated for decades in demanding environments and industries. Based in the North of England since its inception the company operates from a recently purpose-built manufacturing facility in Carlisle, and provides a thoroughly professional approach to all aspects of design, build and testing of every product.
The company is ISO 9001 certified and manufactures to a range of international standards, including API and ISO specifications, as well as meeting the requirements of major end users such as Shell, Saudi Aramco and BP. Its commitment to quality, innovation and continuous improvement has earned it a trusted reputation both in the UK and internationally.
The business has been acquired by Thundercat Industries, who are a long-term investor within the UK manufacturing sector. The business represents a strong strategic fit for Thundercat and ensures continuity for clients and staff alike.
