Westbourne Convenience Store sold to first-time buyer

Otley based Westbourne Convenience Store has been sold to a first-time buyer in a sale brokered by Kings Business.

The family-run Yorkshire store has operated under current ownership for 32 years and is the only business of its type in the local area, allowing the store to cement an excellent reputation within the community.

Open 7 days a week, the business operates as a newsagents and convenience store and sells newspapers, magazines, cards and all manners of good. It also operates from a prominent main road trading position generating an extensive and loyal customer base.

Westbourne Convenience Store was offered to the market due to our client’s wish to retire and Kings Business was instructed in the sale. Our unique buyer intelligence allowed us to generate high levels of interest in the business, with a first-time buyer acquiring the store.

The buyer, who has retail experience, found the location to be ideal, with the business and accommodation that was on offer being an added plus.

Upon completion of the sale, our client said: “My experience with Kings was good and I appreciated Lauren’s efforts, particularly during negotiations. I am relieved we can move on and not have to worry about the shop thanks to Kings”.

The buyer said: “It was a good experience with Lauren, and I thank her for her help with the sale. I am looking forward to moving forward with the shop and expanding the business”.

Sales Negotiator Lauren Lees: “I am happy to have sold the business for our vendor as I knew that he wished to step down. Best of luck to the buyer with their new business venture”.
