Kings Business recently advised the sale of Stop & Shop, a convenience store located in South Yorkshire.
Stop & Shop is an established and heavily relied upon convenience store that operates in the city of Sheffield. The store occupies a prominent trading position that is surrounded by residential properties.
The store specialises in the sale of confectionary, beers and wines as well as offering National Lottery and Payzone services. The business enjoys regular and repeat trade during the 7 days a week it opens for.
After being under current ownership for 33 years, our client wished to sell the business to facilitate their well-deserved retirement and instructed Kings Business in the sale. Our bespoke marketing campaign led to high levels of interest in the business with 4 viewings and 3 offers received.
Stop & Shop was acquired by local operator T S Rai Ltd, who owns a retail store on the same street as Stop & Shop. The buyer was attracted to the business as they have an excellent relationship with our client and wanted to keep the local competition to a minimum.
Upon completion of the sale, our client said: “It has been a pleasure dealing with Sophie who organised the sale. Now was the right time for me to sell as I wanted to retire, and I feel emotional but happy to be moving forward with the next chapter”.
The buyer said: “My experience with Kings was really good as I was kept updated on the progress of the sale throughout. I am so happy to have completed on the sale and would highly recommend Kings Business”.
Sales Negotiator Sophie Wane said: “I am really pleased we have sold the business for our client; it was a pleasure to assist the sale and I wish both the seller and new owner all the best with their future endeavours”.
